Join us for the Eau Claire Marathon Relay on Sunday, May 6th, 2012.
This race is perfect for those who don't think you're ready for the half or full marathon. Get your team of four runners together and share in the 26.2 miles of the full marathon.
Each runner will run between 6 and 7 miles, depending on the exchange zone locations. Awards will be given to the fastest all-male, all-female, and coed teams. Transportation to marathon relay exchange points is provided to all participants. We will allow a maximum of 50 teams this year, so register early. Runners 11 years of age and older may participate. Note: The wearing of headphones during the race will be allowed, in accordance to rules changes by the USTAF. Those who choose to wear headphones are expected to be aware of changing road/race conditions and fellow runners. Any runner who is felt to be posing a safety concern to other runners or themselves may be removed from the race at the discretion of the Race Directors.
Relay teams may cross the finish line together, provided all members are wearing their race numbers. There will be no strollers, pets, or roller blades allowed on the course and no non-race participants will be allowed in the runner's finish area.
The marathon begins at 8 AM in Carson Park. The race will be chip-timed for accuracy and the course will be officially certified. The finish line will officially close after seven hours and medals will not be given to those runners finishing after the clock has been turned off. There will be an awards ceremony in Carson Park following the races.
Tents will be set up within Carson Park for first aid, post-race refreshments, and massage areas. There will also be first aid tents, water and GU stations, portable lavatories, and race route markers along the course.
